Mi for 5 shakuhachis
「巳」～5人の尺八奏者のための
The piece begins with a succession of sixteenth notes played by a single shakuhachi. The remaining four shakuhachi add accents to these, followed by a transitional section quoting Ravel's "Tzigane," before arriving at an idea "like five snakes' entanglement." The middle section is slow, with a structure that reverses and counter-rotates, with the central measure acting as a mirror. After a section of "entanglement," the opening section recurs, and the "entanglement" reaches a climax, recalling the slow section once before arriving at the post-coda. This piece has premierred by Shakuhachi 5 (Akihito OBAMA, Kizan Kawamura, Reison KURODA, Akihisa KOMINATO, Ken-ichi TAJIMA）at Tokyo Opera-city Recital Hall, on December 5, 2025.
曲は一本の尺八によって演奏される16分音符の連続により始まる。これに残り4本の尺八がアクセントを加え、つづいて、ラヴェルの「ツィガーヌ」からの引用による経過部を経て、「まるで5匹の蛇が絡み合うような」楽想に至る。中間部は緩徐部分であり、中央の小節を鏡面として逆行・反行する構造を持つ。また「絡み合い」の部分を経て、冒頭部分が再帰し、「絡み合い」が高潮していき、一度緩徐部分を回想して後コーダに至る。本作品は2025年12月5日に、Shakuhachi 5 (小濱明人・川村葵山・黒田鈴尊・小湊昭尚・田島謙一）により、JFC主催の「日本の作曲家2025」（東京オペラシティリサイタルホール）にて初演された。
